The Mthwakazi ka Mzilikazi Royal Kingdom also known as the Matebele/Ndebele Kingdom is a conglomerate of a multitude of tribes fused into one strong and united nation. The Kingdom’s people and affiliate tribes transcends the borders of Southern African countries, such as South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe with its main Kingdom base found in the area covered by the provinces of Matabeleland the Midlands and parts of Masvingo Provinces in Zimbabwe. The constituent tribes of the Mthwakazi kaMzilikazi Royal consist Bulawayo of people of Nguni (Zulu, Swati, Xhosa, Ndebele), Khalanga, Venda, Sotho ( Pedi and BaSotho), Tswana, Tonga, Nambya, Lozwi, Nyubi and Shangani.  The Kingdom was founded by one of the greatest African King’s Mzilikazi ka Mashobana who broke away from the Zulu Kingdom under King Shaka ka Senzangakhona in the early 1820s.  The gallant, charismatic, and wise King went on to build one of the most powerful, successful economic, political, military, cultural, demographic, natural resources endowed Kingdom, which touched, influenced, and defined the borders of Southern African countries (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana and South} Africa. The Mthwakazi ka Mzilikazi Kingdom is characterized by a shared identity, history, culture, language common to all its constituent diverse tribes. The Kingdom is the epicentre of the tribes and cultures of Southern Africa. The Kingdom was later ruled, sustained, defended by King Lobengula and was the last of Kingdoms in Southern Africa to be colonized in 1893 after having evaded earlier colonization by the Boers in 1836. The people of the Kingdom have survived successive repressive colonial and post-independence governments.  Bulawayo in Zimbabwe is it’s capital city which serves as the center and the cultural hub of the Kingdom.
